
COLONTREK
The Collontrek is a 22 kilometers long trail run race on 1.250 mt D+ and 1.230 mt D-. The race goes along ancient paths once used by the neighboring cross-border populations (farmers, smugglers, etc.) of Alta Valpelline (Italy) and Val d'Hérens (Switzerland) who have been able to preserve customs, traditions and even common languages (Franco-Provençal dialect, the battle of the queens,…).
The route depart on the wall of the Place-Moulin Dam in the municipality of Bionaz (Valle d'Aosta-Italy) and then continues to the Italian-Swiss border to Col Collon and finish in Arolla, a Swiss town in the municipality of Evolène (Canton of Valais).
